“And it's just dawned on me that I might be the author of my own story, but so is everyone

It’s your solo.”

Rooted in a person centered, strengths based approach, my focus is to assist clients in 're-authoring' their life story, to tap into their capacity for change and access internal and external resources. I believe we survive events by creating meaning, which allow us to move forward, make changes or help others.

I aim to respect all individual beliefs, treat people with dignity and compassion and offer a safe, non judgmental space in which to explore and gain insight.

I am committed to providing the most appropriate form of therapy for clients. I believe an individual's capacity to build strength and make lasting changes in their life.  I draw on multiple techniques and therapeutic approaches to best support the unique and individual needs of each client.

I employ a multifaceted approach, drawing on developmental understanding of issues with a psycho-educational component to maximize the therapeutic process. I draw  largely on narrative and solution focused techniques to capitalize on client's strengths and tap into their motivation for change. Drawing, journaling, inner child work and bibliotherapy are often used to process client's experiences.

I have additional training in Hakomi and Sensiromotor psychotherapy for trauma (level 1); both are body-centered therapies that utilize the body as an entrance way to shift and change the "core beliefs" that shape people's relationships, actions and beliefs.
If you wish to know more about either of these methods, please refer to the websites below or contact me.

The body remembers, the bones remember, the joints remember, even the little finger remembers. Memory is lodged in pictures and feelings in the cells themselves. Like a sponge filled with water, anywhere the flesh is pressed, wrung, even touched lightly, a memory may flow out in a stream.
